Ways We Serve

Thanks to Stone Ward and 360 Filmworks for our awesome video.

The One, Inc. is the umbrella that covers The Van and The Field.

The Van Logo

The Van.
We primarily serve these needs by going to the people. We visit current homeless camps, search for new camps, comb alleyways, check under bridges, and seek out people deep in the woods, etc. We take supplies such as food, water, clothing and hygiene products to people where they are. The One, Inc. seeks to build relationships with members of the homeless community so that we may then identify barriers to obtaining income and housing, and help our friends move beyond their homelessness. We are dedicated to be relational, as opposed to programmatic.

Groups of volunteers are utilized to collect, sort, organize and distribute in-kind donations. This is done almost every day of the week, as our volunteers’ schedules permit. Volunteers from many geographic areas work together to make this successful.

Needs are met mostly by in-kind giving from the communities in which we work. Supplies and services are provided from our vehicles, which are maintained by monetary donations from the community and from fundraising that our volunteers do.

The Field.
The Field is an urban farm established to benefit Central Arkansas’s homeless and/or impoverished neighbors. In addition to providing fresh produce to those in need, The Field will provide homeless individuals with the opportunity to earn a day’s wages by participating in the business of the farm. The Field is a joint venture between The One, Inc. and The People Tree, Inc. It is our desire that The Field will become a social gathering place for people from all walks of life who are committed to serving others.

The field is located at: 8016 Faulkner Lake Road in North Little Rock, Arkansas. If you would like to help out either by donating your time or resources, please feel free to let us know! Our vision is huge, and we need all the help we can get.

Emergency Shelters.

The Van works with area churches to open emergency shelters during extreme cold weather.
General guidelines for opening are when the temperature is 32 and below with freezing precipitation or below 25.
When open the hours are 7 pm to 7am.

To receive text messages when the emergency shelters will be open or closed and other emergency msg's from The Van text THEVANALERT to 33222.
